I'm pretty sure that restaurants are one of the types of business for which you can have 100% foreign ownership, but check with a lawyer. As with restaurants and cafe's all over the world, it's all about location, location, location (provided of course that the menu and service are up to scratch). The pricey thing will be the rents; there was a small restaurant above Starbucks at Ramada junction that my wife and I looked at, but the rent was QR 50,000 per motnh. Way too much for a commercial property that was above ground level! We are thinking of opening a restaurant too, with a cuisine that is not in Qatar yet. Good luck, and of course if you do open up, keep us posted! Always looking for somewhere new to try!
