I can only say that I have a similar experience with my job from time to time...the way they're leading and treating their people is good in general, but sometimes they just do something that is against all standards and all "non-written" laws of the company...thanks god, the most important person gives them a shower, but still it doesn't make life easier.. I was told that I have to find a way to deal with them...to behave "more like a female" to get what I want...kind of hard for a straightforward and logic thinking person...
