I agree with Hokey-Pokey. At 80 KM/HR and with enuf of a gap and focus on whatz happening ahead, its not too difficult to stop.

I also feel that it might be a good idea to have count-down timers at the signals. The rash drivers will try to beat the timer as well, but atleast it makes life easier for the careful one's.
