helping others has nothing to do with rewards .... it's a God's promise that he will reward you if you help others specailly needy people !
Same goes with something to do at work !! why do you work hard ? why do you work with honesty ? why ? ofcourse to get reward in shape of promotion/ salary increase/ monetary reward/ bonus/ excellent apprisal etc...
