Maintenance cost for both BMW and Mercedes "seem" to be more expensive upfront but actually the usual service is cheaper than the average car as the service duration for oil, filter, breaks, etc is far far longer!

For parts and repairs, yes, the price is much higher because the material and technology used is far superior then average car..you get what you pay for!
