As traffic is an ongoing issue here, choosing somewhere that will give you a good route to your place of work. There are no "central" areas where one finds entertainment/restaurants/shopping malls - except perhaps Westbay - but Doha is small and while there are some offerings in all three categories they are limited.

Traffic is terrible in some areas and newly started road projects are adding to the congestion.
