You have to forgive me, but I almost fell off my chair laughing! LOL :)
In an ideal world, where animal rights are respected would your idea work. But here???? Tallg couldn't have said it better...............QAWS will NEVER, EVER!!! give the animals in it's care to a Pet Shop! That would be insanity!
Plus you have to remember, many of our dogs and cats up for adoption are not pure-bred (although we do get some) and so hold no interest for the greedy pet shop owners that run their lurid businesses just to steal money out of the pockets of unsuspecting buyers.
What the buyers don't know is the history of the animals being sold. Breeding is done via 'puppy mills' (go look it up on Google, and you'll read all about this horrific trade). Pulled away from their mothers far too young; they then arrive here after a harrowing journey, are kept in abismal conditions, and never re-vaccinated with their booster shots. So by the time they get purchased for the 1000's of riyals (5000qr plus) they are sick, malnourished,scared, unsocialised and many are infected with parvo-virus which is deadly to dogs (not humans), and can kill them within 24 hours.
What makes anyone think that we trust the Pet Shop owners one iota, to care for and respect the animals in their care? Half the time, when an animal is stolen, it ends up in a pet shop................wonders of all wonders!
The Pet Shops should start thinking about bettering themselves. If they do that, then maybe we could assist them by educating them in proper care techniques, and cooperating with them so that when an animal is stolen and turns up on their doorstep, we can catch the people involved. But until they continue to be greedy, and let the animals suffer the way they do, they will never recieve our support. And everyone out there should do the same!
DON'T BUY FROM PET SHOPS!
