Its not about living alone, the simple truth is the abuser has usually stripped away everything from the person they abuse, so they have nothing. it is a situation were unless you have been there it is hard to comprehend, the fact is this person abuses you everyday phisicaly and mentaly they take evrything from you they deny you basic human rights and they threaten you with the only thing you have left to live for and that is your life if you leave them. That is why unless the abused have someone willing to get involved and help they stay were they are. It is not as easy as most people think it is I heard everyday when i was in that situation just leave him, but when you fear for your life (and please remeber this person is hitting you slamming your head into brickwalls) it is easy to believe they will go that next step and take your life. That is why I urge people get involved even if you dont know the person offer that hand.
