Destiny is what is written in the book of Allah (where he has forseen the result of your actions, decisions and heart and its consequences) And have written them in the book and governed your life accordingly.

i.e. he has given us free will to make our own life based on our heart and what we would ask for and knows what the end result will be. And helps us to achieve those goals.

Hence a person who loves this world will have it and suffer the consequences. And a person who loves the hereafter will be given means to achieving that goal as well. And Allah is the sustainer and provides our wealth and sustanence as he sees fit!

Luck is a blessing from Allah in my opinion. As not everything can be by circumstance as it would be improbable to happen so many times in a persons life.
