I don't think pork is a sensitive issue with most people. Nothing against lovely pigs...some choose not too eat it (Vegetarians, Jews, Vegans, Muslims, etc).
I personally think it's going way too far to ban it and black out images of pigs. Haven't people got better things to do?
I have no problem with the smell of sizzling bacon or a roasting ham. I may choose not to eat it but that doesn't mean everyone else can't. I think it should be in the supermarkets.
