No change in the law. you have to wait for one year to change the company, that too if your current sponsor is willing to give you a release. Had the same issue, got a job offer after 2 months of coming here, but the sponsors were adamant on the release thing.I only got release and noc after one year(i.e.,last week). even if they give you a release b4 one year, you may perhaps have problems with the immigration dept(not sure though, i heard it from an HR manager who interviewed me once).
but you can ask your company for a secondment(permit to work for another sponsor for a specific period).it is normally a 6 months no objection certificate. try to negotiate with the new company for that. after 6 months you can probably change the sponsor as you'll be completing one year by then.
