that it really a tricky one ... depending in which encryption method they are using, I can say that it is really so hard.
There is the normal password WEP supplied by user and it is really the easiest but still hard.
There is the 64 or 128 encryption, you will supply a password and based on that it will automatically generate the key for you to use. You can reset those Routers [if they are reachable] through the reset button on the back ...
If they are not ... then hmmmm? If you can login without password, maybe you can play around ... set a password for it and let the poor owner wonder what went wrong ... in the worst cases ... he will shut it down and you will lose your connection source ... at least he will learn to secure his connection with a password next time .. you did a bad deed, to make him do a good one ... for him of course and not you :)
The defualt IP is normally for most routers:
192.168.0.1
or
192.168.1.1
or
192.168.2.1 [Belkin or US Robotics, can't remember exactly]
