45,000 should get you a good condition 2005 Pathfinder, which is probably your best bet. 2006 models are the 'new shape' so jump up a little in price.

You should also be able to get 2005/2006 Ford Explorer, which seem to be pretty popular.

I'd personally stay away from Kia or Hyundai.
