Nokia C5 03 is a Symbian Series 60 device , so you should also be able to use Skype on there. fring these days does not support access to Skype, so personally, I think you're better off ditching fring and using Skype.

Don't why it doesn't work - you could try several things:
- Clear the cache and u=free up some of that (limited) RAM memory
- Update the phone's FW version, or try a re-install
- Do a hard re-set ( #*7070*) or go to the settings and do a factory re-set, but this will erase all your phone's content so you may want to do a back up first to memory card.
