You can buy one but you'll be wasting your money. They don't work along with all the other quick fix gimmicks. The only way to lose weight is a good all over exercise programme and a balanced diet with a small reduction in calories from your base energy requirement.
Here's a web site that will help you find this out.
So far I have lost 14 kilos, still have the last 5 to go but they're always the worst.
Here's some tips. Eat whole apples in between meals. They are low cal, keep you feeling full and the skin is packed with antioxidants.
Avoid anything containing the following:
- processed grains (white wheat flower, corn starch etc), these cause blood sugar spikes because they are absorbed quicker than whole grain or soluble fiber; causing the body to produce insulin which triggers the body to convert the blood sugar to fat. Then you feel drained and crave food again.
- corn syrup, or high sugar content. See above.
- soya (fermented like soya sauce is ok) soya creates Estrogen which equals fat. Also avoid beer, it does the same. It's been turning men into women for centuries.
- fruit juices, they are just flavored sugar. If you want fruit juice - eat the fruit. Then you get all the fiber too.
- so called health food bars. just look at the sugar content.
- Alcohol the body metabolizes it first before anything else in the gut or body fat. Your choice!
- Don’t crash diet. Make a small reduction of your intake. You should be looking at a kilo off a month.
Do the following:
- Exercise!
- Have a good balance of cardio and resistance. Too much cardio turns you into a skinny fatty with no muscle tone. Look at marathon runners; you really want to look like that?
- Eat green veg (cabbage, spinach, greens etc) great nutrition and fiber keeps you full. Also high in zinc.
- Eating anything high in zinc helps in the production of testosterone. This initiates the building of lean muscle. More lean muscle burns more calories per hour even when you sleeping. You need to do resistance training (weights) to build muscle and tone.
- Drink lots of water. The best guide to how much water you need is your urine. The lighter the better. also drink about half a liter before main meals & when you get up in the morning.
- Never get hungry. You go hungry you body goes into storage mode. You eat more and it is put away as fat. Eat more often but less in a sitting.
- Snack on peeled carrots, whole apples, whole unsalted nuts (not honey roast). Make sure you have some at work and/or in your bag. Make snacking a regular part of the day.
- add all your calories up. You don’t have to be highly accurate but be aware of what you are eating.
- Dark chocolate is good for you (70% min). But eat in moderation, one small bar per day max. Don’t forget to add it to your total daily cal intake…and no, it doesn’t count as one of your five fruit or veg. or day lol.
- If you are training eat enough protein to build and maintain muscle. Approx one gramme per day for your target lean weight in kilos. So I want to get to 95kg I eat at least 95 gramms of protein. Check the protein content of your food, eg. One tin tuna in water. Drained Weight=140g protein = 32g.
- If you can’t resist McDonalds, take water as the drink, ditch the bun and fries and don’t have any mayo based sauces.
- Chili, Mustard, Ginger. All increase the metabolism and chili has the same feel good chemicals as chocolate. Wahey! You could always do as the Aztec’s did, aside from ripping out the odd heart or two to the sun god. Drink your chocolate with a good dash of chili.
