Anyway wait to you go back to the states on vacation to have any body piercing done and what ever you do make sure they don't use a piercing gun as this is only for ears. They should be using a surgical hypodermic needle tip straight out of its plastic wrapper. Only use Surgical stainless steel barbell (as plain as possible) nothing else if they try and sell you anything less tell to get F*&$#@ and it will take a good six months before it will be fully healed. Also remember some people can never have this type of piercing asĀ the frenulum (the bit of tissue that attaches the underside of the tongue to the base of the oral cavity) is to far forward. Good body piercers would know this and tell you if your unsure look in a mirror if this part of skin is connect more than half way up your tongue then most wouldn't pierce you. My advice truly and honestly as some who is pierced do your homework dont just go on someones recommendation always make sure all the equipment they use is opened in front of you, if they tell you they use an auto clave to sterilise ask them if you can see it,I dont know much about the states but in Australia all piercing palours and tattooist ihave to to have this unit checked every year and certified so you can ask to see this certificate any piercer that wont show you this or they dont offer you a number should you have any problems with your piercing then my advise is get the F*&$ out of there.
