This happened to me twice in 10 days! One was Asian looking and today's (at Villagio) was an Arab.
I gave neither!!! one asked for 5 riyals and the other for a meal or a ride back. I DID NOT give them anything because it will start to be their profession, if it has not been already!!
It was not at all about money for me, but the apparent scam. I was suspicious of each and kept looking at what they were doing!
Also, near one of the money machines, I was watching from a distance, while waiting in line, a very skinny guy keeps repeating the same scene every time a car stopped for transaction!! He pretended to be falling and breaking down on the pavement as if ill or needy for help!!
