Yes - plenty of nice areas outside the city. Sometimes trashy and not exactly like Florida but you can find nice areas. We try not to go on the weekend just so it's less crowded. We like Dukhan and the dune area right past Sealine Beach Resort. The Sealine area gets too crowded on the weekends and you have to watch out for 4x4s. Dukhan is very quite.
