I have recently brought my car from UAE, though mine was only a year old.
I have paid Dhs 1800 for transportation and another 200 or 300 QR on the border, it was brought in a recovery car.
It took about 24 hours from picking the car in Dubai to delivering it here in Doha.
You would need to get a customs BL details from the importer of the car to UAE, from that information you would go to Dubai Customs and get a paper of duty being paid when this car was original imported in UAE, with that paper you will be able to EXEMPTED for duty while brining it in to Qatar. GCC countries have a law of charging import duty once, if you can prove it.
