And yeah, lima foxtrot is right, my question wasn't about drinking and driving. It's more of being in a public place like what chubby said. Thanks for pointing it out. I think they just got confused by the word I used, "chase".

So, it's clear to me now- it's okay to be intoxicated and merry in Doha so long as I don't pose a threat or danger to people around me.

This case is closed. On to the next stupid question. Anyone? :)
