I would really like to know what the intellectual proof is for christianity...the core source of its teaching 'The Bible' has been revised over the centuries; its contents are disputed and there nothing to say that what we have today has little or nothing to do with what Christ bought...there is no way to verify this...so on what basis do people believe in something that cannot be verified as truth...how can the mind accept something as truth when the source of the truth is built upon heresay!
Christians when pushed upon this will rely on the ambigious term called 'Faith'. Which is meaningless because hindus, sikhs, jews, zoastrians all claim to have 'Faith' so on what basis do we verify the truth from the falsehood?
In Islam we have the Quran. The primary source of Islam. It is the proof of Muhammeds (pbuh) prophethood and messengership because the one who brings revelation must be a prophet. We know the Quran is revelation because it is a miracle (all prophets bought miracles to prove their prophethood) because the Quran defies the laws of language when it comes to manner it is composed. The language is neither poetry or prose. It is a complete new style unknown to the arabs and even the best arab poets where left in awe at the Qurans expressions. The challenge of the Quran to those who have doubt in its authenticity is to bring something similar to it. The challenge was even made easier when God revised the challenge by stipulating the doubters brings a chapter like it...the shortest chapter being 3 lines long!. No arab including the jewish and christians arabs have been able to meet this challenge and niether have the non arabs. This challenge remains unmet for over 1400 years.
Of course to appreciate the miracle one needs to be versed in the arabic language but the non arabic speakers can comprehend the miracle because it is intellectual. Thus all people can think over the implications of no-one being able to write anything like the Quran. In other words the Quran can only be from 3 sources:
1. The arabs
2. The non-Arabs
3.God
1. Arabs including Muhammed could not meet the challenge. So it was not from them. Beside the speech of Muhammed was different to the style of the Quran and no human can disguise his speech for over 23 years without error. Also mans level of speech both oral and writing tends to vary over time. Usually a persons oral and writing skills improve over time with practice but even then a persons written and oral output varies. Sometimes he/she may produce something good whilst at other times he/she may produce something of a questionable standard...like authors or writers.
The Quran was at the highest level of speech from day 1 to the final revelation in year 23. Consistently at the peak of the language.
Furthermore Muhammed was illiterate and he was only accused of bringing the content of the Quran from a christian but that was dispelled as the chrisitian named Jaber did not know arabic.
2. Which leads me to the non-arabs. How could they produce such work when they were not familiar with the language? It is absurd to claim this because the best. most versed arab poets were left awestuck by the quran thus it is only fantasy to claim the non-arabs could produce the Quran.
3. Thus the only source of the Quran is God. The Quran is the speech of the Creator. It is what the creator chose to reveal to us. The Quran or even a chapter no longer than 3 lines cannot be produced by man and never will be.
The Quran remains unchanged to this day. Its manner of composition prevents it from being changed. It was memorised by hundreds when it was revealed and written down. It was compiled into a book form in its intended order by the early companions of Muhammed; they verified that what they had was Quran and then copies of the manuscript were made and distributed over the Islamic State. Over the centuries the Quran has been memorised by millions, passed from one generation to another. One can get a copy of the Quran today; compare with the originals as well as compare it to what has been memorised and you will find no difference therein.
Thus the Quran is preserved and protected from corruption. It is an intellectual proof of Muhammeds prophethood and messengership. Muslims are obliged to believe in all its contents as revelation. Thus muslims believe in the previous prophets and messengers because it is in the Quran not because of the bible or torah.
