No idea about cost but it's probably not a good idea. North American cars are not built to Gulf specs and the belts/gaskets etc tend to let go very quickly in the 50C heat of summer. A colleague from Houston had a lot of trouble til he got that sorted out, then he promptly tried to sell the car.

I've also heard that the computer systems are not compatible with the computer diagnostic systems used here but haven't confirmed that with anyone I know.
