I can confirm, its possible for atleast 5 months in advance.... as one of my friend did it last year. But, then again, You never know. Rules here are subject to change any moment.

fanonite...I would suggest you to go for the Immigration Office in Souq Waqif yourself. That "Shurta Office" also deals as Immigration Counter. They are nice & you can have a clear idea from them.
