It's true that Doha is now awash with accommodation and your options are endless. What's important though is value for money, accessibility, neighbourliness, predominating culture within the community you will be joining, family vs single status.........., none of which you can assess before you arrive in Doha.

You have 10,000 to play with. You might want to book a short-term let, for a month or so, in places like Ezdan Towers (10,000 per month for a studio, 12,850 for a one bed, both with kitchen facilities) and Holiday Inn Villa (16,000 for a 2 bed). These are the only two I have visited but Google should give you a number of options. This will enable you to talk to people, look around and get a better feel of the place.

I wouldn't sign anything before talking to someone who has lived in Doha for a while and I would consider saving some of that cash for a rainy day,for when Doha prices begin to rise again!

Good luck and welcome to Doha!
