Yes there are women cyclists but the big problem is that cyclists (of any gender) are generally considered "targets" by motor vehicles. Doha is not a cycle friendly city in any way. The only time motor vehicles give way is during the Tour de Doha and then it's a motorcade of police Land Cruisers, motorcycles, the cyclists support vehicles etc. and the roads are closed.
I do know there are some who bravely venture out, usually on Friday mornings when traffic is light. But it's not something I would recommend to anyone, no matter how much experience or how comfortable they feel in non GCC traffic. The drivers here are 95% idiots who do not recognize ANY traffic rules except when there is a camera or radar about.
