Just found this on another site posted by a teacher in Sudan who seems to know the personalities involved. It has a ring of truth to it.
"The incident with the teddy bear happened 2 months ago and was settled to the parent's satisfaction within the school at that time.
Not long ago a member of staff set upon a path of revenge for what she considered to be personal mistreatment. It was a member of staff who complained to the police. IT WAS NOT THE PARENTS.
The teacher in question is in jail for her own protection. The school has been closed down by the director (not by anyone else) for the protection of the ex-pat staff.
I have spoken to people who were present when she was taken to the police station and they have told me that she was treated well at that time. She is physically well. I have been told that she has not be charged with any crime.
The teacher has been fired. I do not know what kind of arrangements the school has made in this case but I do know that they treat their staff well and other people who have been fired have been paid to the end of their contracts."
It is also mentioned that the arrested teacher had only been in Sudan for 2 months
