Yes, Black Prince, it is a concern. From within the Muslim community work is constantly being done to counteract and try to stop at grass roots level the breeding of fundamentalism. It is an eternal struggle as we have seen through history with different people and different faiths.
I've just been reading an article on the anti-abortion movement in the US which is predominantly run and funded by the Christian right-wing fundamentalists. These zealots will murder doctors (or family members of) who perform abortions. Some women have to travel thousands of miles to get an abortion and have to put up with the anti-abortion lobby on the way in calling them murderers and the like. Sheesh.
How anyone like that can believe they are pious, peaceful loving Christian people?
