The Mexican flag has an eagle, holding a serpent in its talon. It is perched on top of a prickly pear cactus; the cactus is situated on a rock that rises above a lake. The coat of arms is derived from an Aztec legend that their gods told them to found a great city where they saw an eagle capturing a serpent.
This city was founded in 1325 and called Tenochtitlan which is now Mexico City. the lake is Texcoco where the ancient Aztecs used to cultivate plants on floating bales.
Unfortuantely I don't know how to upload a picture :(
It really is a majestic flag.
