You should have asked for the salary adjustment at the time of the new assignment one year ago when the recession was not a big issue. There are no salary schemes fixed here and your Employer will be the one deciding the package. You have the right to accept it or reject it but they also can terminate your services. You should try in a diplomatic way for a salary increase but creating some issues or complaints will lead you to the situation of controversy.
