Of course, going to the hospital immediately would have been best. It would have resulted in the gathering of irrefutable evidence and her emotional state at the time just after the assault could be witnessed by others. But that is water under the bridge. Perhaps others will learn from this thread should (God forbid) it ever happens to them.

And I agree that in this case the perpetrators may go free. I'm not saying that they WON'T do it again; I'm saying that the only reason to take them to court is TO PREVENT/RESTRICT them from doing it again.

What's happened has happened. Even if these guys get beheaded, G will still need to find the personal healing she needs; that sort of healing never comes from the criminal justice system--it only comes from listening ears and the care and love of a supportive family and community. Can she get that here?
