If you go by the rules of Airlines (all over the world) they ask you as passenger "not to have anything of big value in the lugagge" (cameras, money, jewelry, etc) because if something happens they won't be held guilty about that; and the payment you receive is "peanuts" when compared to the real value of the missing/stolen goods.
