I feel the main reason he was elected this time was because of his accomplishments in congress. He has done more for Louisiana since Katrina then any other politician in this state. Also, he is not part of the "good old boy club" here - that goes for republicans and democrats alike.

Also, his getting 54% of the vote was incredible and historical. He is the first non-incumbent to win on the first go round. This tells me that the voters in Louisiana were not looking at race or political party this time.

People are "finally" ready to make a change with the rampant corruption going on here. That was one of the strongest issues that he spoke to during the campaign.
However, I am sure that people of Indian heritage are very proud of Mr. Jindal's accomplishment - which is fine by me.
