Last year before it closed I was thinking about joining the Doha club...so phoned and booked a tour to see it for myself. When they heard my Arabic name they gave a tour, but said that there is a LONG waiting list of at least a year, but when they asked for my wife's name and it is NOT arabic, they asked where we were from and when they found out we were Canadian they said we could join up on the spot...no waiting list.
That never sat well with me....I guess it never mattered, they closed soon after....but the concept is a foreign one for Canadians...we are not allowed to ask such things let alome apply 2 sets of rules and discriminate on that basis. BIG example is pictures on CVs!! Unless you are applying for a modeling position...WHAT'S UP WITH THAT???

For me, (exact same person with the exact same education, qualifications, etc...) I would get a very different salary depending on which of my 2 nationalities I applied for a job with...STRANGE!

But Qatar wants to improve...so lets hope they do...as others said though it takes awhile.

Stay safe all.

Perfection does not exist. The question therefore, is: what level of imperfection are we willing to settle for?
