Thanks all for your responses, by the sounds of it I think it will suit us fine, I very occasionally have a party animal side to me but for that we can always visit Doha or have house parties... most of the time I'm just a boring mum who likes serenity. I'm hoping there will be other kids around my daughter's age and other women around mine to make friends with.

It would be nice to hear from other mums there too :)

anyone any idea what size the expat community is?
