Ras Laffan is an industrial city located in northern east of Qatar, in an area of about 100km2. It's located about 18 km to Al Khor or 60-70 km to Doha.Time wise, 15 minutes from Al Khor to RLIC Gate or 40 - 60 minutes from Northern/Central Doha to RLIC Gate. You can't expect standard life in Ras Laffan. Yes, there is a labor camp and basic recreational facilities there but beyond that you need to go to Al Khor or Doha. Most people working in Ras Laffan either living in Al Khor or Doha. 60-70km driving everyday is now a piece of cake for daily RLIC - Doha commuters.
