Go to one of the vet surgeries and make inquiries - they are often helping to find homes for strays or abandoned animals. Be aware that all cats cost money - even free ones. They need to be spayed or neutered, have annual vet checkups and vaccinations, microchipping etc.

Talk to the vet to find out the prices involved and to get advice on how to look after the cat properly. Then you will have a friend for life!
