I could show you a few things about technique for free, things you should do and things you should avoid, remember though, you probably already developed a technique and striving to be "clean" might only make things harder for you. I would gladly do this for free. Join the QATAR MUSICIANS group on here, we will eventually get to Metal drumming hopefully. There are several instructional videos and books out there, mainly by Derek Roddy.
I play guitar though but I've played with enough crazy drummers in my life to know the ins and outs, and I also tried to record a few, although this day most of the music you probably listen to is triggers + sample replacement. Really it's all about practice! And also picking out the right pedals. A lot of guys I knew could only play on a certain type, and never on both...here I refer to chain driven (like DW's) and direct driven (like Axis) pedals...if you need more info send me a private message I'll be glad to help ;)
