Be careful as well as booting with Linux might put u in trouble ... ubuntu is the new generation of Linux or let's say .. a different distributor, a newer one ...
Mandrek was the first GUI in Linux, before you have to do everything throw commands, installing Linux, installing the drivers later for each and every device all through commands. To bring it close to you, like MS-DOS commands but in more complicated manner and the more you can memorize those the better you will be.
