Yes, you can drive with an international driver's licence. First when I came to this country I was using it as well. On your IDL it should list the countries that it can be used at. You can also go to the DL office here and convert it to Qatari DL.
But please drive carefully as people driver soooooo recklessly here in Qatar, watch out for the 4X4s, they are all horrible drivers.
