I also did not like the new Camry, it is more like a game play and one hit in one side is more than enough to ruin the car. Get the Honda Accord, spacious and strong car with a nice sound system inside. The 2.4 model starts from 78 [price on board] which means that it would be less than that. I tried both of them and the new Honda Civic and Accord got really my respect ... both are awesome.
The prices for the Civic starts from 58 fro totally standard, only gear automatic+windows ... no cruise control on the driving wheel, no rims.
the second is 64 with rims and cruise control, the third is the full option that comes in 70 which has a sunroof, rims and seat covered with leather.
