If your car is more than four years old, you need to take it to industrial area St.24 and have it checked at Qatar Technical Company (Qrs.75/-). Once they check the card, the traffic police there will do the paper work and you can get the car insurance done.
If it is less than four years, you could go to the airport police station or Khalifa town police station with your car papers (or plastic card of ownership) after you have renewed your insurance for the vehicle.
