I'm sorry, but too much of the story doesn't add up.

As pointed out above, which bank would give a Nepali a loan to cover a surgery for his sister back home?

Add to that, if he was only terminated three weeks ago, why has the "Bank has been chasing him to settle the outstanding"? Loans are paid monthly, and his work visa hasn't even been cancelled that long.

The Nepalis I know have salaries of about 400/month, so giving him 500 will pay for his meals for a lot longer than 1 month.

Truly, I'd love to believe him and help him, but all too often I've met poorer guys who come here and take loans to buy clothes and alcohol and have a good time, and then when it comes time to leave they generate some sob story to milk money out of ignorant ex-pats who lap up the drama.

Give him money, by all means, but in my opinion, his story doesn't wash.
