Guys, take a chill pill (lol) this forum is becoming west vs. east. I think all of us are here for the same reason, to make a decent $ or should I say riyal : ) Away from our families and fiends, but still trying to help each other via this forum, with our experiences and suggestions. Bravo all! And of course we can not generalise a nation because of few trouble makers, as we all have these silly poeple in every society.
Anyways, I think QTR 12,500 is not that bad, as earlier suggested that shared accommodation will cost 5,000 max, because in 7,000 you can get a full 2 bed appartment and can re-rent the spare room and share the cost or vice versa, no doubt rents are going off the roof. Food, car, fule and other utility bills are not all that expensive, one can manage monthly groceries within QTR 1,000 for two people. You can have decent weekends and occasional eat outs and movies too and still save a thousand at least, whcih I know is not enough some of our friends coming from developing countries can not save even QTR 500 back at home countries.
MONTHLY EXPENSES:
Rent 5,000
Groceries 1,000
Car 700 (4 years lease and insurance of 2002 toyota corolla)
Utilities 1,500 (electricity + phone + car fule)
Entertainment 500
Misc. 500
Total 10,000 (max)
Life is about taking chances, and in the worst case scenario, you can quit in a year if things don't work out for you, but inshAllah they will ... Akuna'Matata : )
