...your body in 3 days, but the effects that nicotine had on your body last forever. Withdrawal is NOT all in your head. That's a very important thing to remember when trying to quit.
In the process of getting addicted, physical changes occurred, (mostly to the pleasure/reward centres of your brain). This is not to discourage people from quitting but to prepare them for the effects of quitting.
It will, (probably), be very, very difficult. If it was easy, you would have done it by now. Cold turkey usually doesn't work. You have a much better chance of quitting if you get some help.
Try a bunch of quitting helpers; gum, patches, inhalers. For a time, you will have to quit, (or severely cut back), the things that trigger your smoking.
This is very, very important; Look on the bright side. The psychology of quitting is very complex but maintaining a positive outlook is one of the keys to saying off your drug of choice. If you get sneak a smoke, you have to look at how long you were clean, not that you failed. Next time, you'll do better.
Ok...enough lecturing. Good luck in your quest.
