I agree with baldrick and for your info the flats are very often quite dark (small windows) and with heavy style furniture (for the furnished ones), not very funny/young taste. But clean and with elevator (if you want to compare with Berlin :-)

Some companies gives the choice to their employees between house and allowance for housing. The second one gives you the chance to choose your place but in this case you need to make sure that the allowance is good enough (8 to 15 000 per month for a flat and 13 000 to 20 000 for a villa). Or you can even decide to do more saving on the allowance by sharing a flat/villa with expats.

Unfortunately grass and garden are quite rare. You will find very few villas under 20 000 QR / month with what you can call a garden. Often they have a small place for table/barbecue and you can add some flowers pots or take out some tiles on the floor to plant bougainvillea... (if not already done by the previous owner). But anyway with the summer here, garden and grass will ask a lot of care/time/money (watering morning/evening tones of water needed !)
