The display video you see in showroom are High Definition Videos/Blu ray. so if you want to get the full use of the LCD TV no point in watching the DVD or VCD on it and wondering why you aint getting that quality. if you have a Blu Ray player or upscaled DVD player then you will make full use of the high definition of 1080p.
so back to basis, dont expect the picture quality you see in showroom with tatasky or satellite tv channel. till now the HD TV hasnt reached middle east its in US. so you wont get that quality. period.
so its wise you buy a full HD tv 1080p (for future use). if you have a blu ray player then definitely you MUST buy a full HD TV and not just HD ready tv with 1080p resolution.
The LCD tv rates have slashed, mine is samsung series 3 (not full HD) but i am satisfied with it and i use my own home theater speakers so cant advise much on the inbuilt speakers. the picture is good, i use it for my gaming as well and overall satisfied.
look for a higher contrast ratio like 50000:1. in my opinion you wont find much difference in the LCD TV except the brand name, as all the LCD panels are manufactured by a third party. and the program of these TV differs... i guess i am writing more.. and hope this helps. all the best ...
