Shaun, there is a new law or regulation that states that post dated cheques can be cashed immediately in any branch of the bank that issued the cheques.
Please be careful and try to deal a way of payment either cash or CC on a monthly basis.
Also sign a contract just in case something happens you will have a legal document to back you up....and also be sure the car rented to you doesn't have any "hidden damaged" that could lead the leasing company or person to charge you fot that.
Just have a clear contract and make your way trhough it...be careful...
