i have a friend who took a beginner french class at the center. the teacher was awful. terrible attitude, and did not teach properly at all. i am fluent, and my friend would come home confused sometimes because the teacher would tell them about some of the basic things in french pronunciation that differ from english. this "teacher" was clearly killing time, so in my friend's case it ended up being a bad experience.

this will always come down to the quality of the teacher, and each school will feed you BS about how they only choose good teachers. in a market like this, and with a language like french, they will take whoever they can get.

i took some arabic lessons from berlitz. first teacher sucked, we complained, second teacher brought in, she was great. same school was crap for one month and great the second month.
