So far this is all the information I have in my hands:

Fitness can be a family affair. My Centre recently opened a Contours Express, a ladies gym that allows mums to sweat it out while their children do the same.

“The whole centre is for kids,” said Khalid Darwish, managing director. “It gives mums an opportunity to come with their children and enjoy a gym while they are here.”

Offering several different programs for kids aged six months to 13 years, Darwish says the focus is starting healthy habits for the whole family.

“We have a children’s fitness centre with classes for kids,” he said. “The classes are structured with lots of fun. Children, they will love it.”

For mothers they have Contours Express’ 30-minute circuit training regime, which combines aerobics with weight machines in a workout that’s over before you know it.

“We are offering 29 minute circuit training. They also have different aerobic classes, each a mixture of step aerobics, kickboxing and ball that last an hour,” said Darwish.”

The idea is to help anyone, no matter their age, learn how to fit physical fitness into their lives- even mothers who’s time is at a definite premium.

“It’s in order to convince the kids to live healthy lifestyles. The classes will also improve their social skills,” said Derwish. “We teach them healthy habits. If they’re doing that when they are children, they’ll keep doing it.”

And if the kids are busy tumbling, running, and being active, their mothers can have a chance to do the same.

A three-month membership costs QR2000. For more information, call 498-009.
