Hi I have had UPPP done twice but not in Doha - I can explain the operation and the rcovery if it helps mine was carried out under insurance in NZ.
The first time the effect worked well for 4 years but I had it redone later as my tongue was also causing obstruction plus I gained weight (this can be a major factor). First time recovery was good with minimal problems second time was more problematic due to the secondary operation on the back of my tongue causing swellng and temporary obstruction.
However second time I made a major mistake in going back to work after 2 days of leaving hospital and picked up a throat infection ending back in hospital for another week. Next time listen to the doctor and take the rest also keep takig the pain killers as it has the potential to become very painful if you let them wear off.
All in all though the operation is a good idea if it removes the OSA as you will get much better quality of sleep and feel more energetic when you wake up for the improved rest.
